Does Funeral Consumers Alliance Help Pay for Funerals? PDF Print E-mail

We are a non profit organization whose purpose is to educate and inform individuals so that they may make the best decision regarding their or their loved ones arrangements.  We do not assist individuals in paying for services.

If you are trying to find an affordable funeral option consider Direct Cremation followed by Direct Burial.  You can save additional money by declining embalming which is not required by law.

If you are open to allowing your loved one to support education and research, consider contacting either a Anatomical Tissue Donation organization or a Medical Facility for whole body donation.

There are many anatomical donation organizations that are non profit.  Many will assume all of the costs of after care and return to you the cremains of your loved one.  You do have input in how the donation can be used - for research in specific diseases, for education, or to test new treatment options.  A non profit organization that you may want to consider is Life Legacy.  Their web page can answer any specific questions that you may have.

Universities rely on body donation as a means to train and educate medical students often by absorbing all after care costs and returning to the family, if they request, the cremains.
